2014 WVA Club Season In the Books - Letter from the Directors (6-26-14)
On Tuesday, the 2014 WVA club season drew to an end in Orlando as teams completed the AAU national championships. This was an amazing season for Academy and we saw unprecedented success for our group. In just our second year in the open level, we placed two teams in the top 15 in Open: 16-Black (t-13th), and 17-Black (t-15th). We competed and won over many established and extremely relevant clubs in both the midwest and across the nation. We added some additional Badger Region Championships to our record books: 15-White (15-Club), 17-Black (17-Open). We saw the addition of new satellite programs in Berlin and Sturgeon Bay. WVA saw its first medal finish in the prestigious Great Lakes Power League (16-Black, 3rd) We had countless tournament wins and top finishes across events held in Wisconsin and the midwest.

The club would like to sincerely thank all of our members and families on a great year. Our club is the sum of our parts in every way. Without amazing athletes and dedicated families these successes would not be possible. Special thanks goes out to our graduating seniors, many of whom we will have the pleasure of watching through collegiate volleyball careers as they head off to college. Thanks to our coaches who sacrificed their time and energy to provide our members with instruction and guidance over the season. Good luck to everyone else as you prepare for upcoming high school and middle school seasons.

While it was a great year, we realize that that are always things that can be improved and adjusted. Our club directors and board members are already at work planning and prepping for the 2014-2015 season. There were things in several areas that the club could have been better at and it is our mission to make those changes. We truly believe that we have made choices to stay at the forefront of youth volleyball in our area and will continue to effort to do so.

The first 10 years of WVA are now complete. We strongly believe that we have built a great organization and a club that is recognized and well thought of all across the club volleyball nation. We are very excited to see what the next 10 have in store. Our dreams are getting bigger and our vision is becoming clearer. There are amazing things on the horizon and WVA promises to work tirelessly to make these goals become reality. We are very proud of our club and can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that this is the #1 place for athletes and families to play volleyball. Thanks for all you have done this season and we look forward to having you all back for tryouts in 2014!!
